The Magic of Big Magic (Giveaway Closed)

Big Magic is easily one of my new favorite books ever. Seriously. This book has helped me get back to my creativity and feel motivated to do work again.

I've never read a book by Elizabeth Gilbert, but I was obviously attracted to the cover (I mean look at it!) Then I read the sleeve and I had to read . I've been on a huge personal growth and creativity cultivating kick lately, so it was a perfect fit. I think books have a funny way of coming into our lives at the right time and this was one of those cases.

I absolutely loved this book. I've thought about writing this post since I first picked it up, but I'm having a hard time figuring out what I want to say about it. It's so fantastic!

The way Elizabeth Gilbert wrote this book is perfect. It's broken into many small stories. Which is great, because you can read one or a few of these stories at a time and get a huge dose of inspiration. It relates a lot to writing, but she includes many other type of creativity and art. Some stories don't really even talk about art or creating, but they encourage you to show up, participate, and create the life you want.

I'm going to drive deeper into my favorite sections later on, but I wanted to quickly tell you about one of my favorite quotes from the book. "Done is better than good." Gilbert wrote that it's something her mom used to tell her. "Done is better than good." This is such a huge problem for me. I always get caught up in a project, trying to make it perfect. But then I take forever to finish it or get too intimidated and don't finish at all. Since I read that section of Big Magic, I've been repeating the saying as I work on projects. Such a small thing has made a huge difference on my productivity!

I love this book so much that I want to share it with you. I also love giveaways, so I thought it was be great to host my own. This is my first giveaway, so I'm really excited about this! If you'd like to win a free copy of Big Magic, simply follow the steps below!
