It’s day one of 100 Days of Making and I’m already loving this challenge! I woke up this morning without a plan for what I would do for the first project. I was thinking that I would make a scrapbook layout. But before I got started, I went though my project wishlist and remember I wanted to try these handmade journals from the tutorial on A Beautiful Mess. I remember seeing this tutorial years ago and I’m so glad that I finally made time to try it.
Luckily, I had all the supplies needed on hand, so I was able to make this within just a few minutes. If you want to make your own, click here to view the tutorial on A Beautiful Mess.
Since the vinyl was wrapped up in the remnant packaging, it was really curled and won’t lay flat. I tried ironing it and leaving it under books all day, but it still kept curling. I decided to take it apart, attach cardstock with spray adhesive, and then put it back into. It looks so much better! I love how it turned out and it made the vinyl stronger.
I’m so happy to have completed the first day! And I ended up with a great notebook for me and a gift for a friend. xo. Laura
