2016 Scrapbook: Week Two

I know it's only week two, but this weeks spread is already my favorite! During this week, I took a day trip to Flagstaff, so I got some great pictures. It was fun to play around with the page protectors and photos to create this layout. I loved incorporating the mini instax pictures and the layers of texture.
Since I had so many pictures from Flagstaff, I had a hard time figuring out which to print. So I decided to try something different. To create the 6×12 pages, I actually cut down a 12×12 Design A page protector. It was cheaper to buy Design A and cut it than to buy Design H pages. At first I thought the little dotted edge would bother me, but I don't even notice it. Plus, it gave me a fun idea. To include all the photos, I used the full 12×12 Design A page, but folded it in half. I filled out both side of the page protector the way I wanted and then folded it and attached it with a cute silver binder clip. I just love this! I creates a kind of hidden page, which is great for a lot of journaling.
I loved that this gave me a couple of layers to play with. Like the bottom right page. I used a picture in the back and on the folded over pocked I used a type writer to type on vellum then attached an instax with a tiny attacher.

Here is a list of the tools and sites where I got the materials: pictures printed at Costco, tiny attacher, A Beautiful Mess messy boxes, past Studio Calico kits, Kelly Purkey stamp sets, StazOn ink, and my mom's old type writer.

I really love how this layout turned out. Do you scrapbook? What are your favorite supplies and tools?

I love that you folded the 12×12, I switched to 6×12 this year due to lack of pictures, but will use this concept for my sons birthday week!
